‘’the subject I enjoy the most engineering”
How are you settling into first year?
‘’Good, I like that we have different subjects”
How do you find wearing a mask to school?
‘’I don’t mind its just a bit difficult, I find it hard with my glasses”
What are you most looking forward to?
“Doing more things in engineering”
Do you find a big jump form primary school to secondary school?
“Yeah because there was only 37 in my old school”
What’s the most challenging subject for you?
“Maths”

“Yes I met a few new friends”

‘’Grand, it was easy to getting onto a routine’’

‘’well it’s a bit hard to breathe but I’m getting used to it”
What are you most looking forward to?
“Doing more practical stuff in woodwork”

“No its not too bad, just longer days”

Alex o Neill – former student of Cabra central school
Now 1st year student in Coláiste dun an Ri.
Today we interviewed Alex o Neill, He is a 13 year old 1st year student, he enjoys soccer and Gaelic.

Alex, what is your favourite subject?
‘’My favourite subject is maths because I enjoy the fact that it is challenging and I also enjoy P.E.’’
How are you settling into first year?
‘’Good I like all my new subjects’’
How do you find wearing a mask to school?
‘’Its not as bad as I thought it would be”
What are you most looking forward to?
“I am most looking forward to the extra curricular activities, when they start back up”
Do you find a big jump form primary school to secondary school?
“No not really, its just longer hours”
What’s the most challenging subject for you?
“Science”
Did you make any new friends?
“Yes I met plenty of new people and even made friends with some”

‘’Easy I got into the habit quickly”

“I am most looking forward to the extra curricular activities like football, basket ball and handball”

Caitlin o Farrell – transition year student
Today we interviewed Caitlin O Farrell, She is a 15 year old 4th year student, She enjoys playing music and singing.
Here are some questions we asked Caitlin:
Caitlin, are you happy to be back after the long break?
“Yes I am happy to get back, I’m happy to get back into a routine”
Are you excited about any of the modules you are doing in transition year?
“Yes I am excited to try out new things, I’m most excited about Junk couture and CSI science”
Although we will not be able to go on any trips do you think ty will be a good year?
“Yes although we will not be going on any school trips this year, I’m looking forward to trying out new things, work experience and also the workshops that will be carried out throughout the year”
How has COVID-19 impacted your school life?
“Covid-19 has impacted out school life, we can’t sit beside our friends, we have to sanitise out hands regularly and we have to wear a mask’’ Caitlin also said that she finds the mask hard to wear as she has glasses and the mask makes them steam up.
After school what do like to do with your life?
“I would like to be a history teacher or a crime scene investigator”
Are you excited about any of the workshops we are taking part in this year?
“Yes I am looking forward to movie magic, it’s a workshop where we get to see how movies are made, I think it will be very interesting!”
